Eden was trying to curl her hair with my 1970 comb. It got VERY knotted:

Lots {and lots} of Soccer for the Raes...
This last weekend, Ryder had a soccer tournament in Long Beach called "Battle at the Beach" and Eden had a preseason friendly scrimmage. Our Coach had covid so Kit was the coach and we had to divide and conquer. She usually plays goalie as well as midfield and is an absolute BOSS at both! I promise I am not biased...❤︎)
The tournament was a nostalgic one for us because a few years back, it was the first event that we ever did with our Fire team.
Ryder's team made it to the championship game against Cypress.
The boys played 70 minutes, ending a shut out tie. Then they played 10 minutes of over time. Then 2 extra minutes. Then they went to shootouts and we ended with a hard fought second place. They played SO HARD and we were so proud of these boys!

{up close and personal} bunny snuggles
Our littlest bunny, Jelly Belly, has this funny thing that she likes so do when we hold her: she wants to be directly on your chest and she wants to back her fluffy toosh right into your neck, then she makes herself comfortable while whoever is holding her has to look around her furry little self. The other day I tried to captured it on photo:

She has a little dream...
Over the last month, Eden has gotten it in her mind that she would like to get a hamster. We are not ready to get one, but we decided to take her to the pet store so that with the expectation that she would research different breeds and cost.

First week of school...2022-2023
This week has brought so many emotions. This is Eden's last year in elementary school, making it the last year of elementary school for our family. I know that it will fly by! Our 7th grader was so ready for the year. This also feels like a big year, I think because for Kit and I, 6th grade was still considered elementary school. 7th feels big to me...
Monday: We went out to breakfast at our Cowgirl Cafe to kick off the last day of summer. The rest of the day was spent running final errands for school lunches/snacks and getting everything set out for Tuesday morning. We got our class assignments at 430pm.
Tuesday: The first day of school is here! We took our pictures and then it was all about dropping the kids off. Again, thinking of this as being our LAST year of elementary school is CRAZY! It goes so fast...
Thursday: Back to school night was able to happen this year. The last two years, back to school nights were done over zoom, so I was so happy that family was able to be on campus. I have been feeling lots of emotions and feeling nostalgic about all of the "elementary school lasts" and it was sweet that even in the emotion of the night, there was laughter too...
Friday: I took a sigh of relief that it was Kit's first day off with the kids in school so that we could go on a little date...
I am excited for all that this year holds and I am going to hold all the emotions and feelings that come with open hands...
2022-2023 school year, we are ready for you!

Back to school dinner 2022
This last Friday, we had our annual back to school dinner to prepare for the year. This is our 8th annual back to school celebration.
We chose this verse for the year:
The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8
We unpacked what it meant for God to go before us, and for his Spirit to be with us. We prayed for our teachers, our principals and school staff. We prayed for friendships. Ww prayed over each kiddo. Ryder prayed that Eden's year would be marked with joy and Eden prayed over Ryder that he would be a leader for good.
This night is incredibly sacred for our family and we are excited about all that this year holds...
