Harvesting...

 Our garden is in full bloom, especially the tomatoes...

Many times we can't even bring them in, because we are too busy eating them right off of the vine...  But when they do make it into the house, we do things like this:

We roast them with feta, garlic and olive oil and mix them with bowtie pasta and serve them with salad!

bitten by the {thrifting} bug...

 I recently introduced Eden to thrifting and she is officially hooked.

We got amazing shorts and shirts and the used her own money to get a new doll that was 3 dollars but retailed for $36 and a school set of Our Generation accessories, never opened, for $7 that retailed for $26.  She offically hooked.  It's also a fu place to "use your own money" conversations...

VBS 2021

 This week we had our first on campus VBS since we first came to Rockharbor!  The kids each had their friends and it was a really sweet week!

It was a really amazing week!
I am so thankful for this church family and community...

18 years...

 This week marks 18 years at my hospital...
A lot of growing up has happened for me in these walls.  To be honest, some of these walls didn't even exist when I started...
What a gift to work at a place that I love so much!

healthy...

 The kids had their first well check since Covid.  It's also his check up before middle school...

I will never take for granted that these kids are healthy... What a gift that is!  Also, what a gift to be cared for by such incredible physicians!

All Stars 2021

 This Sunday was the end of Allstars for our U11 team for little league.  It was back to back losses, but this kid battled like a boss...
We couldn't be more proud of this young man. Sports can give you a lot of things, but when WINS are not one of them for the season, it can be so hard.  We saw this young man develop in character, leadership, perseverance, mental toughness, discipline, focus, positivity, and grit...  To be honest, as much as losing is hard, we got the privilege to see what this young man is really made of.  We are so proud to be this kid's parents.  Always keep battling buddy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After the game, we had lunch at In-N-Out.  We happened to arrive when a family from the opposing team arrived. the other dad had a chance to affirm Ryder and all the positions he had played and how hard he had battled.  We had had the same chance to congratulate their player o the win.  After we sat down, the other player came over with two gift cards, saying happy father's day to Kit and good game to Ryder.  I cried.  That moment was magic and I will never forget it...
Also, Eden and I will always be here to cheer these guys on!
"Paving" the way for some big things!
 Over the last several months, we have slowly been working on projects in our backyard... making it just how we want it to be.  Just for a frame of reference, here is what it looked like in January:
Trees out and new fences up:
Podocarpus planted, irriagation moved and grass seed fertilized:
Ready for the paver base:
Kit dug out the grass from the square where the paver base would be, while this was delivered to our front driveway:
He laid the gravel first and then pounded that down:
It made it a hard surface:
Then it was time to place the sand layer and start laying the pavers:
We would make an assembly line with the kids and the job came together so much faster than we thought it would!
We finished this part of the project by spreading the "stay" sand in the cracks, like grout, the hosed it all down to let it sit...
I can't tell you how excited I am for what will be coming next.  For now, we are planning how we want to finish the edge and get ready for the next project!
