Monday, after the very full Easter weekend, Ryder Rae turned five years old! We still can't believe it... We started the day with birthday doughnuts, our favorite birthday tradition!
This was a very special present that Kit received when HE had turned five:
Yep, we did. And we have used four band aids to date.
Our tradition with the birthdays is the birthday person gets to pick what we eat that day. Ryder requested to go to IHOP, (we had been there in December right after we had gotten our christmas tree and apparently he had very fond memories of it...)
What the birthday kid wants, the birthday kid gets...
The servers brought him ice-cream and sang to him. He was ELATED!
Then we decided to head to a new trail that is pretty close to our house and do a little family day hike: He was so tired from Easter...
Boomer Canyon was so pretty!
I still can't believe that I get to call this kid MINE!
That night we ate baked Ziti (he requested pasta) and watched the championship college basketball game between Duke and Wisconsin. (Duke won...) Our friend Uncle Jonesy and his two year old turner came over to watch the game. Ryder had a ball!
It was a great birthday and we are excited to celebrate this kid again this coming sunday with our family!
