October Books

Here are the books that I read for the month of October!

This is the 7th and final book of the Vanderbeekers series.  It was so GOOD! The story wraps up this family's journey as one family member is diagnosed with cancer and one of getting ready to get married and how they come together through the highs and the lows of each.  They was that Karina Yan Glaser writes her characters and story lines just makes you want to fall in love with all of them! I cried as I read the last few chapters. It was all so touching and I would STRONGLY recommend this series to anyone onf any age.  You won't be disappointed!
This book was FASCINATING and So timely for the age of parenting that we are in.  I am so thankful for the knowledge and data that it gives us as well as the tools that it gives as you navigate this rewiring of our kids and how we can best support our kids.  I would 100% recommend this book if you have kids in your life!

This author compiled 6 short stories along with a longer novela set in the 1930's and at some point in each book, characters find themselves at a table eating.  I loved each character in each of the shorter stories, that mostly take place in and around New York, and then the longer story and it's twists and turns... I really loved this author and I am excited to read more of his work!
If you loved the shows Gilmore Girls or Parenthood, this is a must listen.  It’s Lauren Graham’s story.  She reads it with behind the scenes emotions and insight and history that makes your love, especially for Gilmore Girls, even richer… It’s a must…

a girls weekend

The boys are out of town so I got to have a full weekend with my girl. It was packed with Target runs, a Fall Festival at school, soccer, halloween party planning, baking, painting pumpkins, costume creations, halloween movie marathons, face masks, candy salads, Gilmore Girl fall episodes, and SO much talking and even more laughing…

She’s my ride or die. I will never forget the memories we got to make together…

Eden’s school hosted their annual Gall Festival. My little boss baby and her amazing ASB team mates handled a cake walk, cotton candy and popcorn station for raising funds for their school and they just killed it!
Also friends of Ryder’s were there supporting their booths for high school activities and they love Eden and she loves them!

I wanted to change it up…

We have this one skinny wall on our dining room/family room, and I just thought it needed a little change.

I had two embroidery pieces that I had done that I love. So I decided to frame them. I found frames and had mattes cut at the craft store:

The finished product makes my heart so happy!

Elder Retreat 2024

This last weekend we got to be away with our elder team at n our annual retreat. It is such a gift to call these people our friends, some have even become our family over the years… It’s a beautiful time to look at the ways God is moving and celebrate what He has done, and to look ahead with discernment, prayer, and worship to see things the Lord would have for our community and how we can best lead and support our church family… It is always a powerful weekend!

It is such an honor to serve our ROCKHARBOR community with these amazing hums beings!

Trader Joe’s did it again! Their cinnamon roll blondie mix was so good and is a new favorite for our family… An added benefit is that the house smells amazing!
